Constantijn has the breeding, presence, conformation and athleticisim to be a world-class jumper someday, but also quite nice movement if dressage is your interest. He will mature well-over 17 hands, being over 15-2 at 10 months' and growing so fast you can almost hear it! He is sweet to handle on the ground; ties, clips, leads, loads, good for farrier, and learns fast. He is being lunged occasionally and likes to please and be loved on. He will be shown this year at the Region 9 breed shows at Proud Meadows in June and August. Get that eye-popping color AND that breed quality! Would be a GREAT AWS stallion prospect.
Summer 2009: Constantijn turned 2 on May 10th. Sandra Lindenberg took him in the Colts and Geldings of 2007, and he got a 1st and a 2nd, scores of 71 and 74.6, and qualified for the Southern Series Championships to be held in September. We plan to take him for the next PM shows and the championship on 19 and 20 September.
He is being lunged with saddle on and side reins, has been ground-driven, and has a really good mind. Ron, Sandra and I agree that he will be very easy to put under saddle, and looks very smooth. His dam, Whisperlina, (by Flemmingh-keur) is also very smooth. Constantijn is a gentle giant, and learns very quickly. His movement is good enough for dressage, but he also could be a very good jumper, with wonderful athleticism for such a big horse. He is a hair under 16-3 now, and has huge bone. Should mature at 17-1 or -2. Constantijn"s sire is Everij A, a dutch pinto who had a jumping career in the Netherlands before being retired to stud.
According to current USDF preliminary standings, he is #1 nationwide for 2 year old colts/geldings! He has 4 scores which improve slightly every time, and he will get 2 more scores before Championships at Proud Meadows in September 2009.
"Eli" was born 6-2-09, pictures taken 2-10, at about 8 months of age. Will mature over 17 hands. Everlino's sire, Thatcher, is by Welt Hit II and out of Mistral keur. Everlino's (Eli's)dam is Whisperlina, by Flemmingh pref, and out of Oberlina sport-D. Although listed as jumper type on pedigree, Everlino has very good movement and dressage potential. Although large, he is refined. He will be shown in breed shows this year 2010, and attend keuring in September.
