 A Tribute to Engendre

Genny spent her last few years on our place, pretty much retired to broodmare duty and pasture ornament, with occasional light riding by one of us or a young student. She seemed a little slower and older toward the end but never lost her good disposition or body condition. On morning of 2-14-09 she began exhibiting signs of discomfort of colic, and when ordinary common methods were not helping, we quickly took her up to Retama Equine Vet Hospital near San Antonio and after their brief treatment with drugs and IV fluids it was determined she should be euthanised as she was suffering. Engendre was born on April 22nd, 1986 out of Flame Dame X an Appendix Quarter Horse, and by Wieberoodnoot, a KWPN stallion. She was much loved by us, and Cean Embrey, her previous owner. She was as Cean called her, "A grand old Dame" even into later years, and a wonderful mom.
An exceptional moving mare, "Genny" was Champion of her Broodmare class at a USDF Breed show, and was named the overall Reserve Champion Mare by Hilda Gurney, with a score of 78.75%. Genny, at age 14 and in foal, was the 10th place Mature Horse (mares and stallions, all breeds) for the entire USDF Southern Series Championships for 2000. She has produced USDF Breed show Champions, multiple USDF Top Ten Sporthorse Horse of the Year awards, NA/WPN First Premium, and multiple Top Ten Aux. Dutch foals in North America rankings.

Out of Engendre (see above) by Flemmingh (keur) KWPN stallion at VDL Stud in Holland.
Audelia is our next broodmare prospect, a half-sister to Gestion Lingh and Krack C. In '05 she was #4 in the nation for USDF Breeder's Series, Weanling Fillies, and #15 in nation for NAWPN weanling fillies. She was 2nd Premium at KWPN inspection in '05, up against VERY tough competition, with both the #1 and #2 foals happening to be in that inspection group.
